Disney has the unique capability to transport you to any place your imagination can take you. Disney’s Boardwalk is no exception to that magical power.
Disney’s Boardwalk is fantastic, inspired by turn-of-the-century boardwalks like Coney Island; it features faithful to the theme architectural elements, piped-in music, incredible food, and some pixie dust for a little extra magic.
You can find practically anything your magical heart desires at Disney’s Boardwalk, except for Cinderella’s Castle. You must venture to Disney’s Magic Kingdom to view that spectacular spectacle.
This quick guide will direct you to your choices when traveling from Disney’s Boardwalk to Disney’s Magic Kingdom. There are multiple options, and we have them all covered for you.
Traveling from Disney’s Boardwalk to the Magic Kingdom: Your Options
Venturing on your trip from Disney’s Boardwalk to the Magic Kingdom might not be as simple as taking the “second star to the right and straight on ’til morning”, but it is pretty close. You have three trip options for your magical adventure, two of which are official Disney Transportation.
By Walt Disney World Bus Service
Walt Disney World Resort’s Bus service is an effortless and excellent choice. It is a complimentary service to all on-property Disney Resorts and theme parks, so it will not cost you a penny to utilize.
Disney Bus Transportation begins operation at 8:00 am and generally continues until an hour after the theme park closes. Walt Disney World Resort’s Bus service also operates on a frequent schedule, so if you miss one bus, another bus will quickly follow.
To travel from Disney’s Boardwalk via the Walt Disney World Resort’s Bus service, jump over to the Disney’s Boardwalk Resort bus stop. Make sure to board a bus that reads: Magic Kingdom on the digital display.
The display is easy to see, located on the front and side of the bus. Depending on the day, you may stop at other Disney resorts along your way, but in no time at all, you will arrive at the Magic Kingdom park entrance.
By Walt Disney World ‘Minnie Van’ Service
The Disney ‘Minnie Van’ service is an incredible option for your journey from Disney’s Boardwalk to the Magic Kingdom.
Just making their comeback since the COVID era, these charming red six-passenger Chevy and Suburbans vans, with white polka dots, are operated through the Lyft company. Plus, they are so effortless to use.
All you need to do is open the Lyft app within the Walt Disney World Resort My Disney Experience app and enter the destination of Magic Kingdom. Then verify your pickup site from Disney’s Boardwalk, and Lyft will supply a fare estimate.
Lyft will process your charge directly through the app. You can even watch a map tracking for your ‘Minnie Van’ while it is en route. The app will also provide an identifying vehicle number to help you spot your car.
The ‘Minnie Vans’ run from 6:30 am to 12:30 am daily, and since a Disney Cast Member drives them, you can relax knowing your trip will be safe and swift. The Disney ‘Minnie Van’ will drop you off where the Walt Disney World Resort’s Bus service drops off.
By Car
Traveling by car to the Magic Kingdom does offer some advantages, but keep in mind you will have to pay a parking fee. The Magic Kingdom is about a five-mile drive from Disney’s Boardwalk and will probably take around 10 minutes.
Parking at the Magic Kingdom will require you to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center. After you park, you will need to take the ferry boat or monorail to the park.
Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom: Your Options
After you arrive at the Transportation and Ticket Center, you have two options to journey to the Magic Kingdom, the ferry boat or the monorail. The reason for the extra transportation is because Disney’s Magic Kingdom is actually an island.
By Magic Kingdom Ferry Boat
Known as a water taxi, you can travel via ferry from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom Park entrance. And the ferries are an attraction in themselves.
These stately ferry boats generally begin operating 30-minutes before park opening and stop running an hour and a half after the park closes.
Each ferryboat can harbor around 600 guests, and wait times are generally between 10 and 20 minutes.
And while it might take slightly longer to reach the Magic Kingdom by taking a ferry, it is an extraordinary experience watching Cinderella Castle appear as you drift across the water.
By Magic Kingdom Monorail
The world-famous Disney Monorail is your second option to transport you from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom.
The Walt Disney World Monorail System has three different lines that travel throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, so make sure to pay attention and hop on the correct one. Two of the three lines will bring you to the Magic Kingdom.
The Express Monorail will take you straight to Magic Kingdom. The Resort Monorail will also take you to the Magic Kingdom but will stop at the Polynesian resort and Grand Floridian resort on the way to pick up more guests.
The Walt Disney World Monorail System operates from 30 minutes before the Magic Kingdom opens until one hour after the park closes.
