Tournament of Kings

Don’t just go to a restaurant for dinner in Las Vegas when you can go to the Tournament of Kings! Excalibur by MGM Resorts hosts this interactive dinner experience. Your family will enjoy dinner in a 900-seat theater while watching knights prove their honor.

The show includes cast members and real horses, so your children will love seeing a live performance with these stunning animals. The actors use titanium swords that spark when they fight, creating drama the whole family can enjoy.

Tickets are $55.95 per person and include a meal. Children younger than three can visit for free, but they have to sit on their parent’s lap and share a meal. 

If you want to see the show without eating dinner, tickets are about 10 dollars less. Remember that attending without dinner is only available for the 8:30 PM show, which might be too late for young children to stay up.

Lion Habitat Ranch

Spending time in Las Vegas doesn’t mean you have to focus on amusement parks or thrill rides. The Lion Habitat Ranch will allow your family to experience nature in the middle of the desert.

Located 20 minutes outside of Las Vegas in Henerson, Nevada, this animal sanctuary lets you get up close to lions, a giraffe, and wild birds. For a fee, you can add the chance to hand-feed the giraffe or help feed the lions.

Adult admission is $25, or $18 for seniors. Children under 3 are free, and each adult admission gets a child between the ages of 4 and 14 in for free. Additional children’s tickets are $10. A family with two adults and two children can get a discounted package for $60 total.

A 90-minute behind-the-scenes tour will give you time with a trainer who answers your questions about caring for the animals at the sanctuary. You’ll also be able to feed the giraffe. This tour is more expensive than general admission, costing $150 per adult and $75 per child.

Virtual tours are available for $75. While they’re typically used for classrooms, the visits last 45 minutes and are a good way for your children to see the Lion Habitat Ranch if you can’t visit in person.

The Fountains of Bellagio

Believe it or not, the Fountains of Bellagio are a free attraction that you can see several times during your visit to Las Vegas. Each show is unique, so your family can compare the different water performances they see.

There are more than a thousand fountains in the pool outside of the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. The water shoots up to 460 feet high, and lights and music accompany each show.

The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

Most people know the Bellagio for its fountain show, but the hotel also has stunning gardens. Make time for your family to visit the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens at Bellagio Hotel and Casino.

Expert horticulturists transform the 14,000 square foot garden according to the season or holiday. Previous garden themes have included Lunar New Year and “Eco: A Season of Earthly Awareness.” The horticulture team used plants and flowers to represent earth, wind, water, and fire for this unique exhibit.

Though the plants are frequently changed, they get repurposed into other gardens and exhibits, so it’s an environmentally friendly endeavor. The Bellagio also works to conserve water and donate plant and soil matter to a local compost.

Though it can’t compare to seeing the breathtaking conservatory and botanical gardens in person, you can take a virtual tour. You can also see pictures of past themes online.

When you see the gardens in person, you’ll enter the lobby of the Bellagio and see the conservatory across the lobby from the front desk. It’s free to walk through.

Downtown Container Park

Zip-Zilla is the Zipline experience that starts seven stories high. You’re buckled into a seated harness that lets you soar for two blocks of Fremont Street. That’s right—you’re ziplining above the heads of thousands of pedestrians.

The Zoomline buckles you into a harness in a superhero flying position. This experience is for true thrill-seekers because you’re flying 11 stories high for a duration of five blocks. You’re still flying over pedestrians’ heads, but higher, and for a longer time.

Both options have you racing through the air at 40 miles per hour. All riders must weigh at least 50 pounds so they’ll have enough momentum for the experience. Children younger than 16 must have an adult soar alongside them.

The Zipline option starts at $39 per trip, while the Zoomline is $59. Four people can ride parallel to each other at both levels, so the whole family can experience this adventure simultaneously.

Seaquest Interactive Aquarium

Seaquest Interactive Aquarium gives your kids hands-on experiences with land and sea animals. The park covers more than 20,000 square feet, and you’re able to touch and feed all of the animals that live here. Creatures at Seaquest include fish, otters, sharks, stingrays, birds, crocodiles, and more.

Seaquest has animals from five different continents, all in one place. Your family will love learning about these creatures. Because it’s more interactive than a traditional zoo, your kids will never forget being able to feel and feed so many animals.

The Animal Whisperer Tour is a great look behind the scenes of Seaquest. Your family will learn how to prepare food for the animals, how to maintain their habitats, and even understand some of the medical care provided for animals on-site.

M&M’s World

The Ethel M Chocolate Factory gave your family a chance to see how to make chocolate, but nothing beats the classic M&M’s candies. M&M’s World in Las Vegas is the first location of this store, and like everything else in Vegas—it’s larger than life.

You can print custom M&M’s using 16 different colors of the candy and special Vegas-themed images. A replica of Kyle Busch’s M&M’s NASCAR racer is in this store, so bring your camera. You can also buy custom racing merchandise exclusive to this store.

M&M’s World is in Showcase Mall, next to the MGM Hotel and Casino. But don’t worry about trying to find it among the other stores—the famous M&M’s mascots are outside of the store pouring out a bag of the colorful candies.

Shark Reef Aquarium

The Shark Reef Aquarium is in Mandalay Bay, an MGM Resort property. You can tour the aquarium, including a tunnel that makes you feel like you’re in the water with sharks and fish. A virtual reality theater gives you a chance to swim with sharks around the world safely. 

Adult tickets are $29, children aged 5 to 13 are $24, and children under 4 are free. Special encounters, like diving with sharks or feeding animals, cost extra. You can feed sharks, sea turtles, horseshoe crabs, and stingrays.

The Shark Reef Aquarium is the only Nevada aquarium accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. This means it’s held to a high standard. You can visit without worrying about how the creatures are being treated behind the scenes.

Popovich Comedy Pet Theater
