Walt Disney World Resort offers guests the option to purchase a park hopper ticket that allows you entry to one of Walt Disney World’s four wonderful theme parks and to each and every one of them. That’s right, access to all four incredible theme parks whenever you want; what better way to have a fantastic Disney World vacation?
If you’re feeling super ambitious, you may want to take part in the ‘4 Parks: 1 Day’ challenge, which was invented by Disney Park fanatics. But, travelling to four theme parks in one day can be a little tiring!
So, let’s start small and get your park-hopping skills perfected. This article will fill you in on all the ways and the fastest way to travel across Walt Disney World, Florida, USA from EPCOT to Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
Getting from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom: Your Options
So, you want to travel between the EPCOT theme park and the Magic Kingdom theme park?
You’ve got four options, three of them being Disney transportation that the Walt Disney Company themselves offers. Have a read and take your pick!
By Walt Disney World Monorail Service
Walt Disney World’s monorail service is one of the three Disney Transportation options and one of the fastest ways to get around the Disney theme parks. Plus, it won’t cost you a penny!
Walt Disney World currently has three monorail lines: the Express Monorail line, the Resort Monorail line, and the EPCOT Monorail line.
You guessed it, to get from EPCOT to Magic Kingdom, you will need to hop on board the EPCOT Monorail line.
Exit EPCOT at the Future World Showcase entrance is closest to Spaceship Earth. Board at the EPCOT monorail station toward Disney’s Transportation and Ticket Center. From there, you have two options for travelling to the island on which the Magic Kingdom sits, which we will discuss below!
By Walt Disney World Bus Service
Another of Walt Disney World’s Disney Transportation options is the Disney Bus Transportation service. Like the monorail service, the bus service is one of the most popular and fastest in the Walt Disney World Resort, running from resort hotels and in between theme parks.
Just head out of the EPCOT theme park toward the car park; you will find the Disney Transportation bus stops there. There, board one of the many departing buses; you’ll want to board the Magic Kingdom bus! This will take you to the Transportation and Ticket Center, and the journey to the Magic Kingdom will continue!
By Walt Disney World ‘Minnie Van’ Service
Disney’s ‘Minnie Van’ service is a Disney Transportation option offered by Walt Disney World resort. Essentially, this option is a taxi or ‘Lyft’ ride, but the vehicles are restricted to the Walt Disney World Resort area – making it easier to get a trip approved quickly.
Simply download the ‘Lyft app, select your starting point (EPCOT) and destination (Magic Kingdom) within the Walt Disney World Resort and select the vehicle option ‘Minnie Van’.
Vehicles are usually only a few minutes away but bear in mind that a taxi fee will be incurred.
By Car
The Magic Kingdom theme park is four miles from the EPCOT theme park, making the drive from one theme park car park to the other only around 15 minutes.
So, hiring a car is always an option that many visiting Florida choose to do.
Of course, then you will need to consider the price of hiring a car whilst in Orlando if you’ve not driven your own car to Walt Disney World Resort.
Park hopping with a car has its benefits.
Although incurring a daily fee, purchasing a parking permit at one of the four Walt Disney World theme parks will allow you to park at any of the four for the entirety of the day! So, park-hopping and experiencing more than one wonderful Walt Disney World theme park in one day won’t cost you any extra!
Plus, if you’re a guest at one of the many Disney resorts, parking at one of the four Walt Disney World Resort theme parks won’t cost you anything at all!
Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom: Your Options
As mentioned above, once you arrive at the Transportation and Ticket Center, you will have two options to continue your journey to the Magic Kingdom. This is because the wonderful land of Disney’s Magic Kingdom is located on an island.
By Magic Kingdom Ferry Boat
Option one takes a little longer than the second but is well worth the wait. Disney Water Transportation!
The Magic Kingdom operates ferry boats, or ‘Water Taxis’, that travel to and from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom Park entrance. It is an incredible experience watching the infamous Cinderella Castle come into view as you sail across the water, Disney anthems playing throughout the ferry boat and excited people eagerly awaiting the arrival.
The trip is very short, and boats run every 15-30 minutes.

Option two is to take another Disney Monorail trip.
This trip will be from the Transportation and Ticket Center to the Magic Kingdom park.
Fastest Way to get from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom: Revealed
So, what is the fastest way to travel from Epcot to Magic Kingdom to make the most of your park hopper ticket during your Disney World trip?
Unsurprisingly, the answer is the Disney Monorail Service. Step one would be a monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center, followed by a monorail to the Magic Kingdom park.
