How Many Roller Coasters Does SeaWorld Orlando Have?
SeaWorld Orlando does not leave the zealous and brave starved for choice by any means, with a total of 18 rides and roller coasters on offer.
While 18 may not look like a massive number, it is really quite impressive when you try and think about 18 roller coasters placed in one location.
Not only does SeaWorld offer Orlando’s steepest and fastest roller coaster, but also the only floorless one.
Oh, and the only multi-directional one… and the only flying one.
I think you’re starting to get the drift!
There are plenty of options, so don’t miss the opportunity to brag to your friends or colleagues about how you had the joy of riding the Kraken last weekend!
The newest in the lineup of steel-structured joy is the Ice Breaker, which only recently opened in February 2022.
Making the most of the latest roller coaster engineering and technology, you can read about this modern 4-directional experience below before feeling its discombobulation firsthand.
As if 18 rides weren’t enough, keep an eye peeled for the new oceanic adventure that is whispered to be completed and operating as of next year!
With the exciting theme park technology continuing to evolve, there are bound to be good times ahead.
While all of the 18 rides that are currently operating are epic, we have taken the time to research the most rewarding, bold, and well, squeamish rides on offer. Buckle up!
SeaWorld Orlando Coasters: Ranked
We’ve all been there.
Collapsed on a bench in the middle of a sun-scorched theme park, surrounded by the hustle of joy-seekers and candyfloss while you hear the distant screams of riders making the most of their tickets.
It can definitely be exhausting trying to organize a full day of activities at a theme park- especially when there is so much awesome stuff on offer!
Thankfully, in this ranked list we’ve made it easy for you to make the most out of your day (and bravery).
This should work to decrease the mid-day ride lethargy that leaves you wondering if you’re standing in the wrong line and instead increases the amount of exhilaration you can pack into your day.
While your preference for roller coasters is ultimately a subjective thing, I feel it would be hard to contend with the prestigious rides that are listed below.
From the fastest to the freakiest rides in Florida, read on and see how we rate the twists and turns that SeaWorld has to give.
Quickly now– the ride’s about to take off!
Mako
First and foremost, we have the Mako.
You know mako sharks, right? The fastest shark species in the world that can get an air-time of up to 30 feet? Yeah, well… imagine that as a roller coaster!
This extreme ride holds the throne as Orlando’s tallest and fastest roller coaster on offer.
The king of high speeds and deep rolling turns, the Mako is for the keenest of zero-gravity thrillseekers.
(Though, I guess that is pretty obvious when you are looking at drops of 200 feet in height…)
Taking influence from the home of the mako shark, this ride twists and turns through epic shipwrecks and reefs with an exhilarating pace.
It’ll be hard not to leave the ride with a smile to match your windblown hair after reaching the max speed of 73 miles per hour.
The stats on this banger of a ride are as follows:
- Patron height restriction: 54 inches
- Height of ride: 200 feet
- Fastest speed: 73 miles per hour
- Adrenaline rating: ZOOM! (Extreme)
The Kraken
Ahh, the Kraken- everyone’s favorite evil sea monster.
How lovely of the folks down at SeaWorld Orlando to take the mythological, epic scale of this beast and turn it into an immersive and extreme roller coaster experience!
As Orlando’s only floorless roller coaster, this ride has your feet dangling over heights of more than 150 feet.
Testimonies say that it really does make you feel like you’re flying, as you soar through the air like a piece of ship hull in a tentacle.
With speeds of up to 65 miles per hour, I doubt you’ll have any time to look out for pirates as you whip around the Labyrinthian track.
Oh yeah, we nearly forgot to mention: There are seven inversions. This beast is definitely not for the faint of heart!
The Kraken’s info is as follows:
- Patron height restriction: 54 inches
- Height of ride: 151 feet
- Fastest speed: 75 miles per hour
- Adrenaline rating: Don’t forget your Sealegs (Extreme)
Icebreaker
For those that desire something a little less chill (*eye roll*), SeaWorld’s latest roller coaster- “The Icebreaker”- is for you!
Voted #1 Best New Theme Park Attraction in the 2022 USA Today 10 Best Reader’s Choice Awards, this ride is a favorite of the people (and for good reason).
Taking the title of Florida’s steepest beyond-vertical drop wasn’t enough for this new thrill-monger.
That’s because it decides to send you down backward.
That’s right: You’ll get to experience a reverse launch on a 100-degree angle down the 93-foot spike- without even seeing it coming.
As you can tell by its name, it was influenced by the icy steep summits of the Arctic.
It makes sense, considering that with four airtime-filled launches, it will feel as though you are up in the mountains!
Thanks to its multi-directional mechanics, this ride leaves you with absolutely no idea what is going to happen next.
The ride culminates on a massive high, after flying down a near-vertical tophat maneuver and a wicked series of twists, turns, and airtime hills.
Here are the statistics for the Ice Breaker, for those who feel brave enough to try and break it in:
- Patron height restriction: 54 inches
- Height of ride: 93 feet
- Fastest speed: 52 miles per hour
- Adrenaline rating: Thrilling
Manta
The sleek and graceful movements of the manta ray are paid homage here on the Manta, which is one of the smoothest tracks in the world.
Pretty impressive, considering that this thing contains a head-first, face-down inverted nosedive…
Aside from its smooth turns, twists, dives, and drops, Manta is the only flying roller coaster in Orlando.
This makes the ride well worth a spot in your SeaWorld rollercoaster tour so that you can experience the weightlessness of suspension!
The grace of the ride also allows you some time to enjoy the effort that went into the thematic design of the journey, with beautiful blue lagoons and waterfalls.
Close your eyes, feel the splash, and for a second trade your human life with the slick motion of a manta ray!
- Patron height restriction: 54 inches
- Height of ride: 140 feet
- Fastest speed: 56 miles per hour
- Adrenaline rating: Extreme
Super Grover’s Box Car Derby

If you’re coming along with younger thrillseekers, are looking for a gentler ride, or just love Sesame Street, then Super Grover’s Box Car Derby was built for you!
Get behind the wheel in your styling box race car, and experience a myriad of fun hills and sloping turns.
The ride also includes a small dive, so it is not completely exempt from a little bit of eye-widening adrenaline!
